LOL…they only think they're saving some seconds of time…but really they're not, because they're in line on the road at the light…like everyone else. (Silly people!) Add to that rushing around and putting lives in danger.
Yes, if you slow down along the way, the light changes to green and you find you can just coast along smoothly! =)
I have a friend who told me this, not sure if it'll work for everyone. He used to roughly estimate the speed at which he should drive so that he can pass every signal. He did some trial and error, and all he had to do was adjust his speed for the first couple of signals, and then he is on smart mode - every signal on his way is green :-) Of course, here we assume that all signals are equally placed :-)
It DOES work! But here in NY, they're onto us…and so every now and then, there's one light they throw in that doesn't conform to the pattern and timing…just to make you stop and not go flying through all the green lights! =)
Basically you can look ahead and see the yellow turn red, and you can just ease your way along, without even pressing on the gas, and before you know it, you get to the light and by now it's Green! Good to go! Just takes a little awareness instead of just speeding mindlessly along, rushing ;-)
I had a guy one time get out of his care and knock on my window to tell me I was sitting in an illegal lane? I just laughed and sort of felt sorry for him. Depending on how populated an area is depends on the speed of the horn. In one county I travel the horn is honked just as the light turns green in another county there is a 5 second pause. interesting study i guess
Michael - Yep, interesting study. Why people don't understand that the guy in front of them, is in as much hurry as them, is a big puzzle to me. They honk and get angry, as if ONLY they're in a hurry and not others. Its both sad and funny at the same time, to watch them in “action”.

More a senyru than a haiku, but fun, may I play too?
Honk, yell
honk -
why hurry?
They're all rushing and hurrying to get to the next red light.
=)
Silly people.
Thank you so much for the comment :-)
Yes, why hurry? I can't figure out, what people can gain by saving a few seconds on the road. They'll probably go back home, and watch TV, no?
I don't know the difference between haiku and senyru :-(
Rush or not, we all end up at the next light together. Have you notice?
Why not slow down and enjoy the ride.
