Him and Us

Noose

There is a holy place called Iraq,
Once ruled, by the forces of dark.
Their leader was Saddam Hussein,
Who brought his people nothing but pain.

Thousands were sent to the grave,
Young and the old, weak and the brave.
He built his rule by his people's bones,
His throne perched atop their tombs.

Yet one day, his regime did fall,
Captured he was, and thrown in jail.
He was judged by the rules of the land,
And was sentenced to be hanged.

His rule took thousands of lives,
In return, we took away his.
O civilized people, can you tell me this
How better, are our actions from his?

the more you receive, the better you feel
the better you feel, the better you become
the better you become, the more you can give

On my way to work....

Posted on Nov 28th, 2007 by Vijay : The Connector Vijay
These are some of my thoughts, experiences in the form of Haiku, on my way to work.  It takes about an hour one way.  These obviously don't follow the 5-7-5 rule :-(

I'm dedicating this post to Anna Dani, who taught me to see positive things, however small, even in seemingly difficult situations.  Thank you so much, Anna.

In the bus (1)

I smell their breath
and they, mine;
Jampacked.

In the bus (2)

He yells; She yells;
They all yell;
Chaos.

Chennai city corp

Dig them; then close them;
Aaah, finished?
Line one, again.

Note:  Chennai is the name of my city, and my city corporation is funny.  They dig holes apparently for no reason, sometimes on very busy roads :-)

Nothing personal, just business

24 hour hospital
Please fall sick,
we need business :-)

Kid on the road

I wave to her,
she waves back.
sweet innocence.
